I'm honored to join all of you on the 5th. My parents dragged me off the island in 1966 to Redondo Beach. My heart is still in Coronado and I plan to get back to the island some day...even if it's ashes on dog beach.
I'm currently the Pres. of the Bonita Optimist Club (>120 members). I 've been married for >30 years and have two wonderful sons, Nick is an Air Force Pilot and Patrick is in Amsterdam for a semester abroad from UCSB.

I am really enjoying reading everyone's blurbs.  Thanks to the reunion committee for making all this possible.  I didn't actually graduate with you all at CHS.  At the end of my junior year, my mother married Rob Meyers' father and were immediately stationed in London for 2 1/2 years.  I graduated from an all girls' Catholic boarding school in England!  My "then" picture is from a school ID card (circa 1969).  My "now" picture is of my family taken 2 years ago.  So add about 2 more years of weight, wrinkles, and gray hair.  I've been married to Steve Smith, a general contractor, for nearly 30 years.  We've lived in the same house for 24 years and are in the slow, painful process of remodeling, and doing the work ourselves.  We have 2 sons:  Scott (28) a civil engineer working in Santa Barbara; and James (16) a sophomore at Carlsbad High School.                              Maybe I didn't graduate with you, but I grew up with most of you.  My life on Coronado began in the 3rd grade - that was my peak year.  I'll never forget coming in from recess to find a box of Valentine chocolates in my desk from Geno Horton.  Like everyone else, I am saddened to hear of his passing.  He was a sweetheart.  I don't get to Coronado very often as I only have one Aunt and a cousin left there, but I'm looking forward to connecting with old friends and acquaintances at the reunion.  See you there.
